{ Spring Woodland Photo Sessions }

Okay, so carrying on with the spring theme..


And, just in case you haven't guessed already, I like spring.


Since I started in Photography, most of my work has been studio style, clean backdrops, controlled lighting etc. Everything pretty much has been a constant, and as much as I love studio photography, it is nice to use a different backdrop. And what better than the Great Outdoors.


It's part of the reason that I love Spring (and Summer too, for that matter), as it affords me the chance to get outdoors and offer some On-Location sessions.


Now, with the coming of Spring (there's that word again..) there are some changes happening in the world around us; The weather gets warmer, the light lasts longer, the trees no longer look like they belong on a Halloween movie set, and most importantly, the flowers start to bloom!


This year, I intend to get more photo's in the flowers, and, at the minute one type of flower has grabbed my attention....


A few days ago, I was made aware of a local location, only a few miles away, that in Spring offers a great setting for "Woodland Photos". So, yesterday, we went out to check the location out.


This Spring I will be holding some special Bluebell Woodland photography Sessions.


So, we took the kids to school, got out youngest Son in his seat on the back of the bike, and went for a ride. Okay, so it took us around and hour to get there, as we took a 'scenic' route, but it was a nice ride, and upon arriving it was just what we were expecting. The location was perfect.


Now, of course this is an On-Location shoot only, but, don't worry, they're not too far, in fact they're only about a 10 minute drive from the Grimsby Town Center. Full details will be provided upon booking the session.


A perfect opportunity to have stunning On-Location portraits captured in a beautiful ancient woodland with a chance to capture the images with a fantastically beautiful backdrop of the woods and a carpet of Bluebells.

I will be offering two sittings a day (to ensure that I am able to give the best attention to the creation of perfect and beautiful images that you will cherish forever), one in the morning, and one in the afternoon.


They will be held on the following dates:
April 16, 
April 17, 
April 18, 
April 20, 
April 21, 
April 22 & April 23.

The sessions are just £35, and last for around 1-1½ Hours, to ensure that we have plenty of time. They also include:

{ Special Offer - Acrylic Blocks }

When you take a session with us, it normally comes with a free print.

{ New Products - Our New Photo Books }

Well,


Each week, we receive dozens of E-Mail from suppliers (new and existing) offering us new products.


Every so often, we get something that interests us. We don't like changing suppliers as we know our suppliers, and they know us, we have met them, and discussed our needs, and we've seen samples, and have had our works reproduced by them, so we know what we, and ultimately our customers are getting.


Now, last year we get offered a photobook from a supplier that we have used for a long time (Over three years). We know there product, and we know how they print, so we are comfortable that when they print something for us, it is right.


As I said, these are usually designed as a bespoke keepsake for wedding customers. A great memory of the day, a unique and custom designed book, that helps tell the story of the day.


But, recently, we have been able to negotiate a better price on future orders, so we now feel that these are now a great addition to our portrait customers also, who may want their photos to be kept in an album that is designed specifically for them, as a one off. Now, that's got to be better than the old type of "Slip In" albums!


Here are a few images from one of our wedding albums, to give you an idea.

The key points are that the album is printed onto Fuji Professional DPII paper. Unlike many other books, that are printed onto a thinner paper that is not "True" photo paper. The album is then bound together in a protective cover, that will help keep the pages inside in pristine condition. 


They also "lay Flat", so there it doesn't matter if you have an image spread across two pages of the book, when it is open, a unique binding will keep the image flat so its all visible!


These are available in a 12"x8" (roughly A4 size), 20 page hard backed book, for only £150.

{ New Products - More Details On Our New Canvas Prints }

A few days ago, we managed to put an end to months of negotiations with a suppliers of Canvas prints, and photo books.

Whilst the "behind the scenes" work on this was tiring, nearly all of the credit here goes to Allyson, whose dedication and hard bargaining got us to a price point that we where happy with. My part in this, was merely to provide the images for the samples, and to assess the quality of the finished product.

Today, I blocked out some time in the diary to photograph these, so that we could show them to you all.

First, lets start with the canvas print.

We now offer two types of canvas print; Our Deluxe range, that many of of you have seen, and have hanging in your homes, and our New standard range.

Priced lower than our deluxe range, they offer excellent value for money, but still retaining the high standards that we demand from our suppliers.

The images are printed onto brilliant white canvas, before being stretched over a Baltic Pine frame. They are supplied ready to hang, so all you need to do is pick where you want to hang your new canvas in your home.

These new range of canvas prints are available from just £75 for a 12"x16" canvas print.

They are currently available in three sizes but more will be added as soon as they become available to us.

{ New Range Of Budget Canvas Prints - And Photo Books Too! }

We are always striving to get better products to offer our customers.


Now, after a long period of negotiation with a supplier, we are pleased to announce that we are now offering a range of better value canvas prints.


These will run alongside our Deluxe range that many of you are already familiar with, and have hanging in your homes.


Now, full details will follow shortly, and so will product photos. We have our sample print and are happy with it. 


To start with, they will be available in the following sizes:


12"x16" - £75
16"x20" - £80
16"x24" - £85


More sizes will be available shortly, and will be added to the On-Line Galleries soon, so you will be able to order them from there too.


We will also be offering "Collection Packages" so you can create a stunning wall art set from your images, similar to this:

Another new product for our portrait customers, is a range of Photo books.

These are a great way of displaying your favorite photos from your session in a professionally printed, customer designed, hard backed album that you can cherish and keep forever.

Although these are more popular with our wedding customers, with the advent of the recent VAT cut on albums and photo books, our suppliers have now reduced the prices of these, so we will pass this saving on to our customers (seems only fair, right?) and as such, we can now offer these at a competitive price to our customers. At a level now, that we feel will make them attractive to our portrait customers too.

I will get both the canvas and the photo books photographed over the next few days, and will get the images and more details posted on here, and on our facebook page too.

{ Wow, How Time Flies! }

Okay, 


So it's been a very long while since I last posted on here, in fact I hadn't realized just how long it had been!


So, a lot has happened in the last few months...Okay, so the last update here was September last year. I know, I'm sorry, I've been slacking!


So, Lets update on just what has been happening..


Well, there has been lots of family sessions, a few weddings, the Christmas shutdown, Birthday Parties, Lots has happened, and it's been fun. 


But, I'm not going to recap every session that we've covered over the last few months, but I just have to share some photos that I managed to take of our own kids. It's not often that I get the chance to photograph them, so when I can, it's good to update the family photos.


Starting with, a session that we did just after Christmas of our youngest son, Caiden.


Seeing as this was his first birthday, we marked it with one of my favorite types of photo sessions; "The Cake Smash"


These are a great memory and keepsake of their first birthday. Makes a bit of a mess, but that's easily cleaned up thanks to the wipe clean white vinyl sheet that we use!

Now, they all start off in pretty much the same way, a nice clean child and a complete cake!


But, soon the destruction starts, and they end up in a mess.








I love these sessions. The photos that we get from them are just great!

Now, some are a little more careful than others, and don't make too much mess to start with, but after a while...well...

It doesn't take too long to clean up, like I say, there is a white vinyl sheet that we use to catch most of the mess, and they tend to eat the rest of the cake!

And, of course there are more than just him, so recently we got the chance to update the family photo's of our own kids. Now, this doesn't happen that often, so when the chance to get them all together, in the same place and at the same time, then we have to take it!

So, After much convincing of them (okay, so we may of had to bribe the eldest...a little...) we got them all together and had some fun taking there photos. Even managed to get their Mum on the photos too!

So, that's the family portrait out of the way (obviously, I'm not in it, but someone has to take the photo - besides, I'm not in the least little bit photogenic!)
